My fianceé surprised me with some sweets from Whole Foods today, unfortunately I ate my cherry danish before I got any photos of it. I was able to get a shot of the Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie!
I knew it was going to be cold this morning but I wasn’t ready for it to be 45°, for Florida this is considered cold weather. I rushed to get ready, grabbed my gear and hopped in the car. I was running late, I had to go to a spot that I was familiar with, so I headed to Safety Harbor. As I was approaching my regular spot I noticed that sky was fairly clear, I have shot the same scene many times so I Read More +
One of my favorite shoots last year took place at Honeymoon Island State Park, Honeymoon Island is located in Dunedin, Florida. The island was first discovered by Spanish Explorers in 1530, the first known visitors recorded were from the Tocobaga Tribe. In 1880 the island had received its first name “Hog Island” and it wasn’t until the 1940’s that it was officially known as Honeymoon Island. How crazy is that?!? I had no idea that this park has been around for so long, I now Read More +
Everyone I know knows that I have a MASSIVE sweet tooth but honestly who doesn’t love a good dessert?!?! I haven’t been using my macro lens anywhere near as much as I should have so I will be sharing photos of all kinds of food through my blog. Prepare to get HUNGRY!
Yesterday I was able to make in time to capture the sunrise, I also messed around with a few macro shots with my kit lens (SELP1650). I did not have enough time to switch lenses otherwise I would have used my dedicated macro lens (SEL30M35). The image above is 3 bracketed exposures shot handheld, yes handheld. I have been using this technique to get angles that would otherwise very difficult with a tripod and I have gotten some great shots that way. Let me know Read More +
Last week I launched my website, I have been very busy tweaking little things here and there to give the audience (YOU) that experience that I would expect from a website. I am really happy with how it has turned out but I am far from done. With that said, I decided to make another promise to myself. I work 8am-6pm during the week and with the current time change it is impossible for me to shoot the sunset so I will be waking up early to Read More +
When I first started shooting photos I really had no idea what I was doing. I remember when I got my first mirrorless camera, I remember it like it was yesterday! I purchased a Sony Nex-3 which I ended up returning after a week, I wasn’t happy with the quality of my photos and blamed the results on the camera. A few months later I was able to get a Sony Nex-6 for a great deal, I was super excited to start shooting! After playing around Read More +
Last month I took a vacation and what better place then Siesta Key, Florida. Unfortunately I did not get to shoot as much as I wanted to but I did get lucky the one day that I did. This shot was captured off of Ocean Blvd on a private beach. There was no parking so I had my fiancee drop me off and I spent about an hour walking around shooting different spots. At one point I was 3 shots in and the waves pushed Read More +
Went out last night to get my first shoot of the year in, I should have left earlier to look for a new spot but I ended up at John Chesnut Park. I remember coming here with friends as a kid , lots of good memories! I got to the park about 30 minutes prior to sunset, just enough time to get some shots from different spots. This photo is a combination of 5 bracketed exposures merged into one with Photomatix and finally edited with Read More +
Just 4 Months ago, I created a profile on 500px and just earlier this week I surpassed 200k views! It feels great to see that my persistence and hard work is paying off. My goal for 2015 is to surpass 1 Million views. Today I am launching my own website www.bubisphotography.com and it should be finished in the next few days! I want to thank all the people that have been supporting me the entire time. I couldn’t have done it without you! Here is to Read More +
