Capturing The Unfamiliar: Exploring Outside Your Photographic Comfort Zone

A love for photography often begins with capturing the familiar, be it the warmth of loved ones, the comfort of home, or the charm of your hometown. It’s only natural. We are drawn to what we know, what we understand, and where we feel most comfortable. But what happens when we dare to step beyond these boundaries? That’s when the real photographic adventure begins. Photography isn’t just about capturing moments; it’s about capturing experiences and perspectives that may be far removed from our daily routines. Throwback Thursday “Jetty Sunset”

My TBT (Throwback Thursday) for this week is another photo from 2014 taken on Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Florida. This time around I was looking for a new spot, after driving around the park for 20 minutes I decided to park in a different lot and stumbled upon this jetty. This photo is composed of 3 Bracketed Exposure, captured handheld with my Sony Nex-6 and SELP1650. If you like my work please Like ✔ Comment ✔ Share ✔ Follow ✔

Shrimp Risotto

A few years ago I decided to give culinary school a shot. I attended “The Art Institute of Tampa”, I enjoyed the culinary program but ultimately decided that a career in the food industry just wasn’t for me. Just this week I decided I would combine the Chef in me with the Photographer. I will be cooking meals, sharing photos of the process and the finished meal. So here we go, the first meal I will be sharing with you guys is my first attempt Read More +

Morning Dew at Safety Harbor, Florida

Yesterday I was able to make in time to capture the sunrise, I also messed around with a few macro shots with my kit lens (SELP1650). I did not have enough time to switch lenses otherwise I would have used my dedicated macro lens (SEL30M35). The image above is 3 bracketed exposures shot handheld, yes handheld. I have been using this technique to get angles that would otherwise very difficult with a tripod and I have gotten some great shots that way. Let me know Read More +

My First Sunset @ Courtney Campbell Causeway (Tampa, Florida)

When I first started shooting photos I really had no idea what I was doing. I remember when I got my first mirrorless camera, I remember it like it was yesterday! I purchased a Sony Nex-3 which I ended up returning after a week, I wasn’t happy with the quality of my photos and blamed the results on the camera. A few months later I was able to get a Sony Nex-6 for a great deal, I was super excited to start shooting! After playing around Read More +

Sunset @ Siesta Key Beach, Florida (2014 Vacation)

Last month I took a vacation and what better place then Siesta Key, Florida. Unfortunately I did not get to shoot as much as I wanted to but I did get lucky the one day that I did. This shot was captured off of Ocean Blvd on a private beach. There was no parking so I had my fiancee drop me off and I spent about an hour walking around shooting different spots. At one point I was 3 shots in and the waves pushed Read More +

John Chesnut Park – Palm Harbor, FL

Went out last night to get my first shoot of the year in, I should have left earlier to look for a new spot but I ended up at John Chesnut Park. I remember coming here with friends as a kid , lots of good memories! I got to the park about 30 minutes prior to sunset, just enough time to get some shots from different spots. This photo is a combination of 5 bracketed exposures merged into one with Photomatix and finally edited with Read More +
