I captured another gorgeous sunrise earlier last week but unfortunately the iPhone 6 Plus does no justice for how it really looked in person. This timelapse was taken right under the Courtney Campbell Causeway overlooking Downtown Tampa. Make sure to watch in HD and turn up the volume! Music: Activa – You Are Here (feat. My “Throwback Thursday” is a photo I captured mid last year at Vinoy Park. I arrived to the park 20-30 minutes prior to sunrise, I could tell immediately that it wasn’t going to be anything out of the ordinary because there was barely any clouds. At the time I was still new to the whole photography thing and was trying all kinds of different shots, I had gotten pretty good at taking bracketed photos handheld (takes some patience). As I worked the scene, I noticed that the Read More +
Good Morning everyone! I went out early this morning to shoot the sunrise but the clouds were super thick and it was very foggy which makes for an awful photo. Here is an image of the Hyatt Regency Sarasota Pier from last year. This photo was shot handheld with my Sony Nex-6, it is composed of 3 bracketed exposures. I knew it was going to be cold this morning but I wasn’t ready for it to be 45°, for Florida this is considered cold weather. I rushed to get ready, grabbed my gear and hopped in the car. I was running late, I had to go to a spot that I was familiar with, so I headed to Safety Harbor. As I was approaching my regular spot I noticed that sky was fairly clear, I have shot the same scene many times so I Read More +
Yesterday I was able to make in time to capture the sunrise, I also messed around with a few macro shots with my kit lens (SELP1650). I did not have enough time to switch lenses otherwise I would have used my dedicated macro lens (SEL30M35). The image above is 3 bracketed exposures shot handheld, yes handheld. I have been using this technique to get angles that would otherwise very difficult with a tripod and I have gotten some great shots that way. Let me know Read More +
Last week I launched my website, I have been very busy tweaking little things here and there to give the audience (YOU) that experience that I would expect from a website. I am really happy with how it has turned out but I am far from done. With that said, I decided to make another promise to myself. I work 8am-6pm during the week and with the current time change it is impossible for me to shoot the sunset so I will be waking up early to Read More +
When I first started shooting photos I really had no idea what I was doing. I remember when I got my first mirrorless camera, I remember it like it was yesterday! I purchased a Sony Nex-3 which I ended up returning after a week, I wasn’t happy with the quality of my photos and blamed the results on the camera. A few months later I was able to get a Sony Nex-6 for a great deal, I was super excited to start shooting! After playing around Read More +
